Carbon Footprint

Our carbon footprint policies are more common sense than carved in stone. They are applied both at work and at home.

Keeping our impact on the planet to the bare minimum has always been our intention and we make a pretty good fist of it, but there’s no room for complacency. This is a serious issue that the Global Credit Crunch, and the World’s Media, has pushed to the background.

Where possible we always work with organisations that share our passion for low impact. Most of our printers have ISO 14001 and 9001:2000 environmental standard accreditation as well as being FSC certified (less than 5% of the UK’s printers have this). Working with clients who make up some of the worlds largest paper organisations has given us a great perspective on what is possible and what really effects our environment.

We produced our own calendar that highlighted the Global warming issue in a tongue in cheek way, with some fabulous illustrations by Spenser Wilson, and quoted WWF’s statement “if everyone on the planet lived like we do in the UK, we would need THREE planets to sustain us all."

Below is a brief description of the Greenhouse effect:
We are surrounded by atmosphere. It keeps the temperature nice so we can live here BUT the earth’s temperature is rising..... fast! Heat is stored by the earth then its gases are released slowly. This keeps the cold places cold, the hot hot and the wet, like England, wet. They’re called greenhouse gases. Burning fossil fuel like we do, increases greenhouse gases. This makes everywhere less temperature stable. It’s affecting our weather, marine life and the animals and plants that live with us.

We need to switch on to climate change. What’s your carbon footprint?

We are also a member of two sides because we agree with what they are saying and trying to achieve.

rtfacts aim to make the least impact on the environment and to be truly corporately socially responsible. If your business has this commitment and wants to work with people with the same conviction you're in the right place.
